about
Kelly Clare (they/them, she/her) is an artist, writer, and editor based in Western Massachusetts. Working in large-scale installation, video, collage, drawing, poetry, and performance, they have exhibited and published their work both nationally and internationally. Much of Clare’s practice explores digital materiality and linguistic play, and her work has been supported by residencies at the Vermont Studio Center, A.P.E. in Northampton, MA, and Public Space One in Iowa City, IA.
Clare is the author of two experimental poetry chapbooks: NEARLY EARLY ARTLY NEVER (Greying Ghost, 2024) and demonstration forest (Community Mausoleum, 2025). Before relocating to the east coast, they received both their MA and MFA with honors from the Sculpture and Intermedia Department at the University of Iowa. Clare is an editor at Ghost Proposal, a small press focused on work that transcends traditional notions of genre.
